Boomer Consumer is my weekly blog post reviewing a product that I have recently tried and would like to recommend.  This week I am reviewing a product that I received as a Christmas gift from my kids AKA (hubby)!

Beautiful, wonderful, fragrant coffee!  I am not an all day type of coffee drinker and don’t drink regular Canadian style coffee, but I do love my morning espresso and even better if it’s a delicious cappuccino.   Although I have a great espresso machine, the milk steaming option, that is classic on most machines, is not very efficient.  It gets clogged up, is hard to clean, you never know how much milk to put in, and as in my case, it just stopped working.

The Nespresso Aeroccino Plus is the coolest kitchen gadget I’ve come across in a long time.  Just pour in some cold, fresh milk (the exact amount is marked inside the container) and press the button. Compact and quiet, the Aeroccino+ quickly produces an exceptional quality milk froth in 90 seconds … just the right amount of time to make your espresso.  It can also just warm your milk if you prefer a latte.  Try my fave …. the Bailey’s Cappuccino (weekends only).  Simply pour a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream in with your milk and presto … a specialty coffee to  impress your guests or to treat yourself (you deserve it!) … ahhhh what luxury!  My kids love it too … great for their hot chocolate.

Thumbs up for the Nespresso Aeroccino Plus $99  at Home Outfitters, The Bay, the Nespresso Store or on-line at

If you are out and about in Ottawa’s Byward Market, there is no better place for an espresso or cappuccino than La Bottega on George Street.  Their Barista Zac is a real pro and they use illy café, which is the only one I use at home …. sooo good!
