The World Economic Forum started today in Switzerland and big on the agenda is Income Inequality. There will be a lot of stats and confusing interpretations of data to come, but one thing we are all sure of, is that there is still a large gap between the 1% and the 99%.
Listening to CBC Radio’s The Current this morning tweaked my interest in the subject of Income Inequality in Canada, then shortly after, I saw a facebook post from a friend with a piece on Income Equality in Canada from The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives … must have been a sign? Then there is the gender gap … sorry guys, but the proof is in the pudding! Women are still getting the shaft and Aboriginals even worse!
I think we all need to be paying attention to our Canadian reality.
